In short
- Cancel before we start and the professional fee comes back in full.
- We have started, and you pay only for the work completed — explained before we process the refund.
- Government fees are not refundable by us once an authority has taken them, because they were never ours to hold.
- If the failure was ours, we finish the work at no extra cost or refund the undelivered portion.
The principle
A professional fee buys our time. If you cancel before we have spent it, you get it back. If we have already done the work, you pay for the work that was done — and we set out what that was, and what it comes to, before anything is processed.
Government fees are a different matter entirely. They are payable to a government authority, not to us. We hold them only long enough to pay the authority. Once an authority has taken the money, we cannot return it, whatever the outcome of your application.
What happens at each stage
The stage your order is at when you ask determines the outcome. The table below is the whole policy.
Where an entry says work completed is deducted, that figure is our assessment of the professional effort already spent on your file. It is not a published rate card, and we will show you the reasoning for it if you ask.
| Stage | Professional fee | Government fees |
|---|---|---|
| Order placed, work not started | Refunded in full | Refunded in full if not yet paid to an authority |
| Preparation under way — documents being drafted | Refunded less the work completed so far | Usually already spent; not refundable |
| Filed with the authority | Refunded less the work completed so far | Not refundable |
| Query or notice received, further work needed | Further work is chargeable at the quoted rate | Not refundable |
| Rejected because of information we supplied in error | We complete the work at no extra cost, or refund the undelivered portion | Not refundable — the authority keeps them |
| Rejected because of information you supplied | Work already performed is not refundable | Not refundable |
What is never refundable
These cannot be refunded by us because they are not money we hold, or because the work has been done.
- Government fees, stamp duty and statutory charges already paid to an authority.
- Tax already paid on a professional fee being refunded. Your accountant advises on the reversal position, and we can issue a credit note on request so the adjustment is traceable on both sides.
- Third-party costs already incurred, such as a digital signature token or a certified copy.
- Professional work already performed, where the cancellation follows an error or omission on your side.
When the delay or rejection is ours
If we cannot deliver the agreed scope for a reason attributable to us, we will either complete the work at no additional cost or refund the professional fee for the portion we failed to deliver. It is your choice, and we do not argue it.
That covers an error in a document we drafted, a missed submission caused by our oversight, and work we undertook that was outside the scope you paid for.
How to request a refund
Email us from the address registered on the order, quoting your order number and the reason. A short note is enough — there is no form to complete and you do not need to explain yourself at length.
Every enquiry is read by a named expert during support hours (Mon–Sat, 9:00–20:00 IST).
Tell us if your reason is that we were at fault. It changes how quickly we handle it, and we would rather know than have you ask twice.
How the refund is settled
An approved refund is returned to the original payment method — the same card or UPI ID that paid for the order. We cannot redirect it elsewhere, because that would break the payment trail both the bank and our ledger depend on.
Refunds are approved and initiated by a member of staff, not by this website. That has two consequences worth stating plainly. First, there is no self-service button: your dashboard does not show a refund line, and the invoice balance does not update on its own. We confirm the refund to you by email, with the amount, the method and the date it was sent. Second, we cannot promise a settlement window, because the time between initiating a refund and the money appearing is controlled by your bank and by the payment gateway, not by us. We will tell you the date we sent it and chase it if it does not land.
If an order was paid in more than one transaction, write to us and we will work out the allocation against your payment records rather than guess at a split.
If you disagree
Write again and we will re-review the decision. Ask for it to go to someone who was not involved the first time if you would like a second pair of eyes, and we will arrange that where the original decision-maker is available.
If we still cannot agree, you may refer the matter to the relevant consumer forum. We will provide the order record, the fee breakdown and the correspondence we relied on.
